How to care for bleach/ blonde hair
Soo… I did exactly what I said I wouldn’t. I bleached my hair- again. After I dyed my hair, my hair became dry and started becoming brittle, so I purchased some new products to see if it would help restore my hair’s health.
Before washing my hair, I apply the Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3. I leave it on for 20 minutes or sometimes in the morning and wash it out in the evening. This treatment is supposed to strengthen the hair from within, reducing breakage and improving its look and feel.
To keep my hair from getting brassy, I use the Redken Color Extend Blondage Color Depositing Purple Shampoo. I leave this in my hair for about 5-10 minutes during each wash to ensure that my hair remains blonde and brass free. This shampoo leaves my hair a little more on the dry side so I mix this in with the Olaplex No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo. The Olaplex shampoo is meant for damaged hair to repair and maintain the bonds in your hair while reducing breakage. I love how soft and silky this makes my hair feel.
For conditioner, I use the Olaplex No. 5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner. It is recommended to leave in your hair for about 5-10 minutes and before washing it out I detangle my hair.
I have been using these products for over a month, twice a week. I did not see my hair improving from the dryness or fizziness so I invested in the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil and the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Mask. The first time I used the hair mask... OMG, I fell in love!! I left the hair mask in my hair for about an hour or two while I had breakfast and cleaned up a bit. As I was washing it out, I felt that my hair was moisturized and the texture improved. When I blew out my hair and applied the honey infused hair oil, my hair felt even better! If your hair is damaged and you’re willing to spend money on the quality of the product to improve your hair, I HIGHLY recommend these products. They are extremely lightweight and do not weigh the hair down. I have super thin hair and these products do not leave my hair oily either.
I like to detangle my hair with a wooden brush from the body shop while I have conditioner in or when I have a hair mask in. I start detangling my hair from the bottom and work my way up. When I get out of the shower, I like to use a microfiber hair towel to wrap my hair up after I get out of the shower. It’s less damaging on the hair, reduces frizziness and is easy to use.
If you guys are considering dying/bleaching your hair or already have damaged hair, you may want to consider some of these products. I’ve been using them and they have been working for my hair and I hope it works just as good on yours. If you have not dyed your hair before and are considering doing so, make sure you take care of your hair.
Let me know if you guys try out these products and if you liked them!
