Summer Skincare

Summer is almost here. NYC hasn’t gotten the message yet so we’re still waiting.
Taking care of your skin over the summer is important. The sun is dangerous and leads to skin cancer.

Summer face skincare routine:

I still alternate between the St. Ives Acne Control Face Apricot Scrub, and the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Face Green Tea Scrub as face cleansers. But I only use either of these once a day and then wash with a 10% Benzoyl Peroxide foam wash twice a day. I always moisturize (even if it’s too hot out) then add SPF!

Summer body skincare routine:

I’m constantly shaving my legs in the summer (luckily after my laser hair removal, I do not have to do it as often). Shaving dries out my skin a lot. I use any vitamin E lotion that does not have a strong scent to it to moisturize my entire body (excluding my face).
I like to scrub my skin in the shower and use a loofah to make sure my skin gets exfoliated thoroughly.
On beach days, I ALWAYS wear sunscreen, no matter what. If you want to tan, apply sunscreen first then a tanning gel over. I love the Bain de Soleil Orange Gelee Sunscreen Lotion. This gel leaves my skin with a nice summer glow! Just beware that it does stain your swimsuit.
