Own Your Flaws

Let’s start off by making it clear that everyone has a flaw. What can be perfection to one person, is a flaw to another. Flaws do not mean that a person is damaged or unattractive. Don’t try to change your appearance or your personality just because someone says that you have a flaw. Take it as a compliment and keep it moving, because that person doesn't value you for who you are.

Embrace your flaws! They make you who you are. There is no such thing as the perfect person or perfection period. Think about it, how boring would life be if everyone was “perfect”? Imperfection makes you unique and helps you stand out in a different way from others. Which is a great thing.  For example, when there’s a trend going on, and you stick to your own fashion or set your own trend. Being different is good, creative and fun. It doesn’t mean you should go out there and try to be different from others. Something about you is already different from others. 

I have many flaws and one of my flaws that stands out the most aside from my acne prone skin, is not being able to hide my reactions. My facial expressions give my feeling away, only if you pay close attention. My boyfriend can always tell when my mood shifts because of my face expression lol. And you know what? I like it.  Its a flaw I embrace. I would rather you know how I feel right away, as opposed to waiting days, weeks or months to know. Growing up, I use to think some of my facial features were flaws. But I embraced them and I love every bit of it. 

So next time you think of your flaws negatively, remember this:

  • Appreciate your individuality
  • Don't let your flaws hold you back
  • See the beauty in your flaws
  • Surround yourself with positivity
  • Put yourself first
  • Your imperfections/ flaws make you who you are
