Fall Reading List
This Fall season I decided to make a list of books I want to read. These cold cozy nights in are perfect for staying in with a good book while sipping on some hot chocolate, coffee or tea!
This is what is on my fall reading list so far:
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
What a great read! The book is about a hockey town who puts all their faith in hockey. There’s a big twist somewhere in there. What I loved about this book is that the author talks about each character and their background of how they became who they are in the present. This helps the reader understands the cause of the characters actions.
The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
Super excited to read this book, it is the sequel to The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue. I fell in love with that book when I read it last year, and I’m hoping this one is just as good. This story is about Felicity Montague’s journey on her way to accomplishing her dream of becoming a doctor. Felicity goes on a grand tour similar to the one her brother did in the first book.
Hippie by Paulo Coelho
I love ALL Paulo Coelho books! This story is about his journey throughout the 70’s as he travels and searches for a profound meaning of life while realizing his dreams of becoming a writer.
Becoming by Michelle Obama
Who doesn’t love Michelle Obama!? She’s the BEST. This book launches on November 13, 2018. Amazon describes the book as “Warm, wise, and revelatory, Becoming is the deeply personal reckoning of a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations—and whose story inspires us to do the same.” In this memoir, Michelle Obama takes readers into her life and shares the experiences that shaped her as a woman. Definitely, a must read.
The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White
This book is about Elizabeth Frankenstein who is married to Victor Frankenstein. Amazon description states: “As the years pass, Elizabeth's survival depends on managing Victor's dangerous temper and entertaining his every whim, no matter how depraved. Behind her blue eyes and sweet smile lies the calculating heart of a girl determined to stay alive no matter the cost . . . as the world she knows is consumed by darkness.” I’ve read reviews that this story is spooky and dark. Perfect for celebrating the season!
