Are You Ready For The New Year?
As we are approaching a new year, many things come to mind. Did I complete my “New Years resolutions”? How did this year go overall? It’s already December? Where the F*ck did time go!? I think of these things and ask myself the same questions and more.
Looking back at this year, I’ve noticed I accomplished a lot of self-growth. Maybe not as much as I wanted but, definitely more than the previous year. Creating this blog was an achievement (although I do need to post more often). This year for me has been trials and error. Trying new things, exploring new places, what I like and don’t like and opening new doors. I am grateful for it all because it’s a learning experience.
With that being said… Here’s a little New Years list of things of things I personally want to accomplish for 2018. I hope to give you a little inspiration for things you may want to achieve too.
Set new goals
I love the beginning of the year because you have 365 days to complete something. Plus my birthday is a few days after the new year, so that means I get a new year and a new birthday year to accomplish some goals. I like to start with some goals to accomplish in 3 months, then 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. Simple.
In 2017, I went on 2 trips with my boyfriend. Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, both beautiful islands. In 2018, I want to see more places, try new foods, experience things in other countries and live a little more. I always feel so refreshed after a vacation, like I could take over the world in a week. I love traveling. Wandering new places always feels exciting, new, like opportunities are waiting for you at the next destination. So many emotions. All positive! So, in 2018, I want double the trips I did this year or triple if possible.
Start something new
When I created this blog, it felt so good. Doing something new and different from things I’ve done before. Also, being able to explore a new side of myself that I never thought I would. After I graduated college I was bored with just working regular 9-5. Still bored at work, but that another story. Starting a new project made me feel more alive if that makes sense. 2018, I’m coming to you with new ideas and new projects!
This is a problem for me sometimes. Okay, most of the time. Every time I promise myself to eat cleaner I think of the fattest and greasiest foods possible and I crave it so bad that I could literally go weeks thinking of it until I get it. So, 2018, I need to eat healthier. Getting older and I know I need to take care of the inside of my body as well as the outside. (I am starting now but throughout 2018 I have to maintain it)
Reading is fundamental. You can learn so much from picking up a book and reading it.
Being more active
I do feel that I have become lazier than before once I started working at an office. Think about it. Sitting all day and only getting up for restroom breaks or lunch break until it is time for you to go home… pretty lazy. You could get a hundred spreadsheets done but your body just feels tired from all the sitting and minor movements. Getting up and out and being more physically active is defiantly on the to-do list.
I hope you guys got a little inspiration from this post.
What are your plans for 2018?
